END-OF-LIFE TREATMENT       … DEC 29TH, 2014

If I read much more about our politicians, I may get sick,

They refuse to pass doctor-assisted-death, like a brick,

And they do it quietly and silently because its not mentioned,

In their wild attempts to have their stay in power lengthened.

They go to meetings here and there and discuss what they like,

But death with dignity is something they seem to hate and dislike,

And they want to make sure they keep their slight majority,

Then they can deny death with dignity by pushing their authority.

What can we do with these bought politicians from hell?

We have no recall while they delete emails In their own cartel,

Their hospital end-of-life treatment may be good enough now,

But not near as good as doctor assisted death they refuse to allow.

I'm trying to figure out, which group of politicians is worse?

Is it the Ottawa crowd or the Toronto crowd, that are the curse?

Which could give us doctor assisted death but they both refuse?

Is it all hidden under the carpet so as not to confuse?

Our upper echelon, with titles, oppose doctor assisted death,

As if they themselves will never die or be on their last breath,

And death-with-dignity is religious stuff so cannot change,

Our politicians seem confused and refuse to rearrange.

Is there a hidden religious guy somewhere giving them instructions?

Can't mention his name or any of the hidden obstructions,

Therefore death with dignity is never mentioned in the open,

Is all this secretive stuff, a good or a bad omen?

How do we get rid of useless politicians without "recall"?

As they fool around with numbers and emails and delete them all,

Why are we stuck in this position, just reading it in the papers?

Having to tolerate their actions and transactions like vapours?

We need to change our Charter with the help of a referendum,

Before they add more and have another odd addendum,

Trudeau wrote the Charter of Rights but he missed a few things,

Without binding  referendums and recall, it sometimes stings.

Of course you know and they know, and this, they want to avoid,

On the odd chance that their political future that could be destroyed,

So find someone to rewrite Trudeau's Charter of Rights,

But add recall and binding referendums and maybe get it right.

I'd like to die on the fifth of July twenty forty two,

I'll be a hundred and five by then so there will be nothing new,

On a quiet sunny Tuesday afternoon in the middle of June,

With Irish music in the background at high noon.

Of course I realize that death is not your favourite subject,

But you can't avoid it, no matter what your religion or sect,

Unfortunately, doctor-assisted death is banned here and now,

But it would help if we could get it made legal somehow.

Unfortunately our upper echelon want things to stay as they are,

They think that death-with-dignity is going too far,

Do they themselves think that they will never never die?

Well, I've got news for them, they will, so look up in the sky.

Is there an omnipresent group in Ottawa that rules the roost?

Where no death-with-dignity law will be allowed or produced?

And we don't have a recall system so they stay forever there,

Nothing is allowed to change there, so we don't have a prayer.

Ontario politicians don't seem to care and why should they dare?

They never heard of doctor assisted death and just stare,

But they have it in Quebec and how did they manage to do that?

Did they have some friendly useful politicians go to bat?

Reading about Ontario politicians will cause you to think,

As their spending and debts and taxes come with a wink,

Helpless voters wondering what they may have done wrong,

And who is that in the background singing a song?

Why can't death with dignity be made legal now?

Why does Ottawa, after all these years, still disallow?

Is it religion, Supreme Court or they just can't agree?

Would it help if we asked an unelected Senate appointee?

Don't they realize that each and every one of them will die?

And they may not agree with the outcome as they say good-bye

In great pain and agony and the doctor can't give death assistance

Because established upper echelon put up resistance

They say they have it in Quebec now but we're still not sure

Are they that far ahead of us and are we just immature?

Someone somewhere should have the answer to this trouble

Or do we have to wait for another Ottawa bubble?

The day you die will be the most important day in your life,

With no doctor-assisted-death, there's certain added strife,

Our party politicians think that maybe they will never die,

So there is no need to change or even bother to ask why.

We should be able to influence our politicians up there,

If we had binding referendums and compel them to care,

But how can we do that when they refuse to ever change?

We need to rewrite Trudeau's Charter and rearrange.

But where can we find a leader  to get us out of this mess?

Because party politicians already sold their souls so no progress

We know we should be able but how do we bring change about?

A Constitution with no binding referendums; so we doubt.
