BY JAMES BREDIN Unbearable pain at the end of life should be a legal cause, To choose a dignified and peaceful death just because, In doctor assisted death and no great need to cause a fuss, Go quietly out of this life and no need to discuss. It should be the patients themselves and not the government to decide, And no need to have a legal or criminal issue implied, And why is it so difficult to get this issue changed for the people? Is it still the sound of bells from the village steeple? Incurably ill Canadians should have dignified deaths, Especially when they are close to taking their last breaths, And those in pain may want to avoid continued pain at any cost, When already their dignity and pride has been completely lost. JAN 12TH, 2015
